PAVILION, ADASTRA PARK.
The wooden pavilion in Adastra Park, which has been in use since the 1960s, is being demolished, and the Parish Council is building a new “green” community pavilion. Work will start on 6 September 2010, and last approximately seven months. Farnrise have been appointed as contractors, after a competitive tender procedure, and the new building has been designed by architects Ecotecture of Haywards Heath. The building is being funded using Parish Council reserves, by grants from Mid Sussex District Council, Viridor, Keymer and Hassocks Cricket Club, and a loan from the Public Works Loan Board. The new building will be used by sports clubs using the Adastra Park, and it is hoped that community groups will also make use of the facilities.
During the construction work, the car park next to the pavilion will not be available, as it will be used by the contractors, and will form part of the security around the site. The Parish Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause park users. The car park next to the Parish Centre, and the car park next to the Adastra Bowling Club will not be affected.
If you have any queries regarding the rebuilding, please contact the Parish Office.
